Hi there everyone, this is Kellie here!
I asked Marina to do something for me that I have never asked of anyone before. And I can not thank her enough. The image today was made in memory of my brother Shane Williams. I lost my brother to a car accident just shy of his 18th birthday in 2003.
After having some what of a break down on his birthday last year I have since been able to have photos of him around the house and speak about him on the odd occasion, it's not that I don't want to, but the pain when I do, it just eats away at me. Since cardmaking every year I have wanted to make a card for him for his birthday, but nothing really stood out and being as sensitive as it is I wanted to make something perfect. See the thing about my brother is this.......
- He was SO tall,
- He was an amazing basketball player and played for the Jr. Melbourne Tigers and went to China because of it.
- All his clothing, EVEN his socks had to a brand name, nike, adidas etc...... Drove me MAD hehe, always having to have the best of everything, but he was a perfectionist in that ways and that is why I knew his card would have to be PERFECT or more so the perfect image.
- He cared for his family more than ANY thing in the world.
When I asked Marina she was only too happy and I really can not thank her ...... THANK YOU so much Marina.
When I wanted to make this I had all these ideas. Shane's team were black, yellow and red.......soooooo not my colours to work with but I just KNEW they were the colours to use and then I hit a brick wall and I think it was because of this, always so hard to look outside your little comfort box you have around yourself and after trying and trying I decided a sketch was in order, I just could not help it, it wasn't working. So I used a sketch from Sweet Spot as they have amazing sketchers, and here is what I came up with.....

I have had that Tigers pom pom for I don't know how long and the little wooden Micheal Jordon figure is out of wood and was given as some type of trophy when Shane was in China, one of his many his pride and joys.
Shane would had been 25 on the 30th September this year. Not a day goes by where he's not in my thoughts and I miss him dearly. I wasn't going to have him as a give away, but I know he would had loved to think he made another persons day..... So....
You must comment on this post before Friday, August 27th, 11:00pm EST (Eastern Standard Time) NO EXCEPTIONS.
SHANE WILL BE OFFICIALLY RELEASED ON Saturday, AUGUST 28th!
Thank you for reading a bit about my brother.....
